Jessop Goes First - Part 2

Part 1
2

When the old man came back out Wayne was standing in the courtyard
between the buildings wearing a baseball cap and facing facing the
door. The baseball cap ensured that nobody from the second floor of the
apartment building could see his face. All the curtains on the ground
floor were drawn. The old man saw his grandson and called out to him.
Wayne then turned and went back to Bonner's apartment. As was expected
of him, Borden Jessup
followed. He got to the door and hesitated for a
moment before stepping
inside. Wayne was standing on the far side of the living-room. ankles.
He watched his grandfather try to scream, and surprised himself by
feeling only a mild satisfaction.

He started to ask, "Wayne, boy, why'd you walk away?" It was in his mouth, ready to come out when something collided with the back of his neck with what felt like the force of a bullet. It was an aluminum baseball bat in the hands of Lance Bonner, semi-professional contract-killer.

When he woke up he was duct-taped to a white plastic deck chair, and
gagged. His legs, torso, head and left arm were taped tightly and
individually to the frame of the chair, but only the upper part of his
right arm was taped down. His right arm below the elbow was free and
there was a pen taped into his hand. He made a sound and two heads
appeared above him. One of them was his grandson.

"Hello, pedophile." Said the black face.

Borden Jessup wanted to cry.

"So you like little girls, huh?" Lance Bonner was saying.

He looked familiar, and the accent was familiar too, maybe Caribbean.
Eagle had island niggers working out there on his farm that he got to
come up on a yearly basis, sometimes they ran off. Probably this was
one of them. His mind was working hard trying to size up the situation,
but the fact that his grandson had told this boy that shit, that stung
him greatly. He could not get a clean think on the situation.

"Well, sir, there are no little girls here.Let me explain to you what
is about to happen. You are going to tell us everything. More
accurately, you are going to write everything you know down. Or we are
going to hurt you. Badly."

Bonner held up a baseball bat, then he slid a yellow legal pad onto Jessup's
belly and moved the hand with the pen in it onto the page.

"Start writing." Bonner said.

Jessop Goes First - Part 1

They
were smoking, talking about what
they had planned
for the day.

Wayne
by the window, Bonner

reading from a Methodist hymnal on the sofa.

"What the fuck is he doing here?" Wayne asked, jumping up suddenly and
looking out the window.

"Who?"

Wayne did not answer, but watched as an old man, the old man, stepped
out of an old Toyota pick-up and leaned over the side to get something
out of the toolbox.

"Again,who?" asked Bonner.

"Fucking Borden. My grandfather."

"Really? The child-molester?"

Bonner got up and went to the window to see. His first thought was that
Borden Jessup
was there to bring Scooby
a delivery on Eagle's behalf, but he did not see Eagle Jessup
making home deliveries or going to the trouble to send a message to
them via his brother either. Also, Scooby
by the window,

kept his address very
private, especially from white people.

They watched as the old man went into a neighboring building in the
complex, carrying a leather bag.

"Probably working maintenance." Said Bonner. "They will hire anybody
off the street here."

The two continued to stare out the window, Wayne at the old truck in
the parking-lot, Bonner at the building the old man had gone into.
Wayne was reliving his childhood, Bonner was coming up with a plan.

"How about we do it today?" He asked.

Wayne was about to ask what he meant when it came to him.

"Today?"

"Sure. I don't have anywhere to be till about six this evening. We can
do him here, slow but not real slow, maybe two hours, then dump him and
the truck tonight."

Part 2

Gail - Jessop Goes First

Gail Wolford

48 years-old, is a crackwhore
with no teeth. She is sentenced to life without the possibility of
parole for having cut the penises off 7 men in the years between 1993
and 1998. Her lawyer managed to get the death sentence taken off the
table (even though four of the men bled to death and two committed
suicide) because three of them were registered sexual predators and all
had abused, or attempted to abuse Ms Wolford.

Wolford, 5'3", 249 pounds, blond,
was raised in Craw County by a farmer and sometime construction worker
named Borden Jessop aka BJ. In her autobiography, Confessions of the
South Florida Penis Chopper, Wolford tells of a life of almost nightly
sexual abuse at the hands of Jessop. The book, while hardly a
bestseller, is widely read enough to make her a celebrity among
feminists and certain members of the UNCF population. Jessop has denied
ever abusing Wolford and has tried several times to sue her for
defamation of character. No lawyers would take his case.

Wolford writes to her son Wayne
roughly three times a year, telling him little about her life in
prison, but offering advice on love and his academic life. She was very
disappointed by his decision to drop out, but sharing his enthusiasm
for Miriam Bonner. She has always been worried that his penis size
would hinder his ability to form a meaningful relationship with a
woman.

In prison she has a lover and cellmate named Daphne Crookings. Both women staunchly deny being homosexual.

Lance Bonner - Jessop Goes First

 32, 5'10" 190 pounds. He is a
lightskinned black man, the child of a black Jamaican prostitute and a
German sailor who for some reason insisted that the child take his
name. He has, since childhood, been fascinated by tattoos and tattoo
art, in fact this fascination is what drove him to come to the US in
the first place. Both his arms and his upper body are covered with
drawings from Conan the Barbarian (Marvel comics version, circa 1983).

His mother had, while growing up in
a Catholic girls' home in Jamaica, become addicted to American true
crime tabloids and at the time of her death had a collection of more
than 30,000 issues of seedy pulp periodicals, the majority of which had
been read at one time or another by her young son. The first thing he
had ever read on his own had been an issue of Real PI in which, among
other things, a young black man had been kidnapped and raped to death
by a chapter of the female wing of the Ku Klux Klan.

Bonner had become accustomed to and
comfortable with violence at an early age, due both to the available
reading material, and to his mother's stories of her abusive clients.
At age thirteen he began accompanying his mother on her nightly rounds
in the wealthier neighorhoods of Kingston where she made housecalls.
Doreen Bonner serviced both male and female clients, some of whom were
alcoholic and/or of a violent disposition. His job was to protect his
mother.

Bonner's weapon of choice (but not
the only one) is a small razorblade which he keeps taped to the back of
his neck just below his hairline. With it has been known to cut throats
and inflict other mortal wounds. His slight, stooped frame and mild
disposition tend to make him blend into the background, forgotten until
the moment he chooses to strike. Bonner has been the prime suspect in 4
murder cases in Jamaica, ranging from 1989 to 2001. None of the victims
were ever found and Bonner was never charged.

In 2001, Bonner got a job on a
work-visa as a a favor from one of his mother's politically connected
clients. He was employed to pick watermelons and apples on Eagle
Jessup's farm in Craw County, Florida. He arrived in March of 2001, and
in June, got news that his mother, Doreen, had died. In December, when
his visa expired, he decided to stay in Florida and pursue his dream of
covering his upper body with tattoos. An acquaintance he had made
while  tending both the legal aspects on Jessop's farm and those
more less above-ground ones, a man they called Scooby, was more than
willing to get him somewhere to live in exchange for services rendered.

In addition to working for Scooby,
Bonner operates as a freelance hit-man. His "agent" contacts him via
coded classified ads in the Gilvert community paper, The Lizard.

Scooby - Jessop Goes First

38 years-old, 5'9, 338 pounds. He is black, prematurely gray, and looks
like he should be a crime-lord. In truth he is poor, with an almost
manic phobia of the police. Eating is the only thing that comforts him.
His diet consists mostly of Krispy Kreme donuts, beer and warm
supermarket-brand cola.

Money has had his phobia of the police since his mother, Daphne
Crooking, was dragged out of the house by them after she had murdered
his father. That night Gordon Money had been asleep during the fight
between Walter Money and his common-law wife, and woke up when a police
officer fired a shot into his headboard after thinking that the
sleeping child was reaching under his pillow for a firearm. His mother
had been already hysterical and grew moreso after thinking that Gilvert
Sheriff's officers were murdering her child. She was beaten into
submission in the back of the police car. Money was taken outside and
saw the blood-spattered rear windows.

Scooby makes his money by selling weed from his apartment and from the
trunk of his car. His terror of the police makes him extremely cautious
about who he sells to and the precautions he takes. For instance, he
sells weed one day a week. He is careful to buy only one other day, and
rents a car for the trip to Craw County. His customers schedule
appointments a month in advance, and if they miss one, they have to
skip a month before coming back. They leave the money in a flower pot
on his porch and he calls them back with a location at which he has
hidden the weed (for instance, the toilet tank at the Denny's on 34th
Street). His unorthodox sales-methods have made him popular with a
certain segment of the University of Central Florida population. Among
other security measures Scooby occasionally hires his neighbor, Lance
Bonner
, to kill troublesome customers or other pot-dealers who infringe
on his territory or threaten to harm him.

He buys his weed from Eagle Jessop, who grows it in a barn on his Craw
County farm. Eagle is the younger brother of Borden Jessop.

Scooby has a dream of becoming a record producer and has dedicated the
second bedroom in his apartment to this. He has also purchased a brand
new personal computer and taught himself to use it. In this endeavor he
has recruited Wayne Albertson, who he has come to think of as a little
brother, and who is a talented lyricist. The two have recorded several
tracks together and have almost completed their first album.

Wayne - Jessop Goes First

23 years-old and an Ashton Kutcher lookalike, except he is short,
like 5'4". Nice guy, tiny penis, insecure about it, but not too much
since his girlfriend loves him. Spends his time gardening, smoking
weed, and writing poetry. Does not watch much TV. Hates Eminem, thinks
he is a part of a white conspiracy to destroy hip-hop and it's culture.
Out of respect for hip-hop culture and comfort with his whiteness,
Albertson dresses normally and refuses to speak in ebonics.

Albertson was raised by his grandparents in a South Florida trailer
park after his mother, a prostitute named Gail Wolford was convicted of
cutting off several of her johns' penises. Case got national attention
and spawned many late-night televeision talk-show jokes. Her nickname
was the South Florida Penis Chopper. Wayne was an average student who
always aspired to be a rapper. Mos Def is his hero. On the night before
he left his grandparents home, Albertson got into a fight with his
step-grandfather, Borden Jessop who was 78. Wayne lost. He would never
tell anyone of the fight or of the outcome, but this was when he
decided, finally, to kill the old man.

In 2003 Wayne got a scholarship at the University of North Central
Florida (the campus is in Gilvert), but dropped out in 2004 to become a
rapper after falling in with Scooby, a pot-dealer and would-be
recording producer.Became friends with Lance Bonner, next-door neighbor
of Scooby. Bonner is homicidal a Jamaican immigrant with a love of
poetry and guns. Albertson fell in love with Miriam, Bonner's dwarf
sister after answering Bonner's cell-phone one afternoon when she
called. She became his whole life after that, his main ambition was to
either help  Bonner get legal so that he could file for his sister
to become a legal immigrant, or, get her to come to Florida on a fiance
visa. Second on his agenda is the desire to ask, or find a way to pay,
Bonner to kill Jessop.
