Jessop Goes First - Part 1

They
were smoking, talking about what
they had planned
for the day.

Wayne
by the window, Bonner

reading from a Methodist hymnal on the sofa.

"What the fuck is he doing here?" Wayne asked, jumping up suddenly and
looking out the window.

"Who?"

Wayne did not answer, but watched as an old man, the old man, stepped
out of an old Toyota pick-up and leaned over the side to get something
out of the toolbox.

"Again,who?" asked Bonner.

"Fucking Borden. My grandfather."

"Really? The child-molester?"

Bonner got up and went to the window to see. His first thought was that
Borden Jessup
was there to bring Scooby
a delivery on Eagle's behalf, but he did not see Eagle Jessup
making home deliveries or going to the trouble to send a message to
them via his brother either. Also, Scooby
by the window,

kept his address very
private, especially from white people.

They watched as the old man went into a neighboring building in the
complex, carrying a leather bag.

"Probably working maintenance." Said Bonner. "They will hire anybody
off the street here."

The two continued to stare out the window, Wayne at the old truck in
the parking-lot, Bonner at the building the old man had gone into.
Wayne was reliving his childhood, Bonner was coming up with a plan.

"How about we do it today?" He asked.

Wayne was about to ask what he meant when it came to him.

"Today?"

"Sure. I don't have anywhere to be till about six this evening. We can
do him here, slow but not real slow, maybe two hours, then dump him and
the truck tonight."
